The Fort Scott Area Community Foundation (FSACF) is hosting Match Week November 10-14, 2025! FSACF has set aside $25,000 to match community gifts to participating charitable funds. It's a continuation and expansion of Match Day, which we've hosted each fall since 2023. As in past Match Days, each participating fund will receive a prorated match out of the match funds based on total community donations received, up to 20% of the total match pool.
By participating in Match Week 2025 at the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation, you will help support local communities and the organizations that serve them! Keep reading to learn more!
Match Week basics
FSACF is hosting Match Week November 10-14. Match Week is an exciting fundraising opportunity that will help grow many of FSACF's charitable funds. Those funds are then used to benefit Bourbon County residents through scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations. Funds participating in Match Week are:
- Anna Faye Steele Memorial Fund
- Care to Share Cancer Support Group
- Dr. Pratt and Pauline Irby Endowment Fund
- Duvall Family Memorial Endowment
- First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Fort Scott Endowment
- Fort Lincoln School House Endowment Fund
- Fort Scott Area Chamber Foundation
- Fort Scott Area Community Foundation General Endowment Fund
- Fort Scott Area Public Parks Endowment Fund
- John Valentine and Patricia Jean Neff Health Care Fund
- Robert Gordon Steele Memorial Fund
- Shepherd Family Endowment Fund
- Shirley Yeager's Animal Friends Foundation Endowment
How we calculate match amounts
Each participating fund is entitled to 100% of the donations made to it (less processing fees charged by Stripe, our online-payments processor). In addition, each fund will receive a prorated match out of the $25,000 match pool. In other words, each fund will receive a portion of the $25,000 match pool that is proportionate to the fund's share of community donations during Match Week, subject to a 20% limit.
For example, if a fund receives 10% of community contributions during Match Week, it will also receive 10% of the match pool, which is $2,500. If it received 25% of community Match Week donations, it would be limited to 20% of the total match pool, or $5,000.
How you can give during Match Week
You can give Match Week in any of the following ways:
- Online. At 12:00 a.m. on November 10, this website (FortScottGives.org) will start accepting donations. Simply select one or more participating funds you'd like to donate to, enter the amount you'd like to give to each, and complete your donation through Stripe's website. And don't worry! You can donate using Stripe whether or not you have a Stripe account! Online donations must be made by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 14.
- In person. You can bring your contribution, along with a completed FSACF Match Week donation form, to the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce in Fort Scott, 231 E. Wall Street, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. any day during Match Week.
- By mail. You can mail your check to FSACF, P.O. Box 901, Fort Scott, KS 66701. Be sure to include a completed FSACF Match Week donation form so we can know which funds you'd like your donation to benefit. Checks must be postmarked by November 14.
Please make checks payable to Fort Scott Area Community Foundation. If you aren't using a donation form with your check, please write the fund name(s) on the memo line.
